As goes the tradition, this year is no exception. Let me tell you how these tunes got their titles. - The Cullivoe Band is a great dance band that we had the honor of performing with while we toured the Shetland Islands in July 2001.
- The Crowded Room was just that.
- Alain & Bert Chevrafils are a couple of real good jiggers from Manitoba.
- Stan & Donna Penman are from Saskatchewan and for many years, were on the organizing committee of the Carrot River Old Time Fiddle Contest. Stan is also a fine fiddler.
- Gaetan is a true music lover from Quebec City.
- The Frontier Fiddlers are a group of young fiddlers from Northern Manitoba under the direction of Cameron Baggins.
- Birch Hills, Saskatchewan is Freddie's hometown.
- Vic Garbutt is a DJ on CHIP Radio in Fort Coulonge, Quebec. Vic asked me to compose a theme song for his Country Classic program.
- On Patti Kusturok's wedding day in October 97, Gord Fisch and I decided to go golfing, so we rented clubs and bought the last balls in Pine Falls.
- Gordon Jamieson of the Shetland Islands recently got hitched with Sandra.
- Laverne Hummel is a great guy and fiddler from Ontario.
- Bethany Dick is a Montana fiddle champion.
- On the return flight from Randy Foster's CD release party last May, I wrote a tune at 37,000 feet.
- Brian Hebert, a well-respected fiddler from Pembroke ON and I, have become good friends over the years and together, we composed Friendship.
- Bambi & Thumper are a couple of movie stars?
- When I was a youngster, I used to spend my summer holidays helping out on the Morin Farm in Vega Alberta with my aunt & uncle, Evelyn & Stan Morin.
- Don Olds is an old time fiddler from BC.
- George Linsey is a man on a mission. He is constantly lobbying CBC to have more fiddle music heard on the airwaves.
- Who let the skunk out? I really want to know. Who let the skunk out?
- Vi Bourque from Saskatchewan is a guitar student at the Emma Lake Fiddle Camp.
